who is chris hilken?

Chris Hilken is the senior pastor at College Ave Church in San Diego as well as being a trained apologist and professor of theology and apologetics for Summit Bible College. He also helps to lead Dad Tired, which is a Christian fatherhood podcast and movement with his friend Jerrad Lopes. He served at North Coast Church in San Diego for 10 years as a teaching pastor and a leader of the young adult ministry before accepting the call to pastor College Ave in 2023.
He married his college sweetheart, Paige Hilken, and the two of them shared a decade-long love that brought 5 little ones into the world in less than 7 years. In 2021, after a catastrophic medical diagnosis, Paige fell into a battle with mental health that ended in her taking her own life. After taking a year off of ministry to heal and counsel his 5 kids, he’s returned to ministry with a renewed vigor for the gospel that’s deeper than ever as he now understands firsthand the wrestling match and questions that come with following Jesus. Hard questions. Deep grief. Good grace.
